Ingredients:
Moong sabut dal1 cup
Salt to taste
Water2 glasses
Red chili powder1/2 tsp
Tomato4
Turmeric powder1 tsp
Onion1
Coriander powder1 tsp
Ginger1 inch
Garam masala 1 tsp
Cumin seeds1 tsp
Oil 4 tbsps-

Masala Moong Sabut Dal Making Method:

1. Firstly, wash the dal with water till the water.comes out clean.

2. Boil the dal in a pressure cooker with 2 glass water, salt, and turmeric powder. Boil it till 1 whistle.

3. Chop the onions into small pieces and cut ginger into juliennes.

4. Chop or grate the tomatoes.

5. In a pan, heat the oil, add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

6. Now add chopped onions, ginger juliennes and fry them till they get light brown.

7. Add chopped tomatoes, cumin powder,salt (remember it is already added when we boiled dal. So add as required), red chili pow-der, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Mix them and cook them till oil separates out.

8.After the masala is cooked. Add it into the da! in pressure cooker and stir them and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes.

9.When cooked serve it in the serving bowl and have it with chapatti or parantha.

Panchratui Dal

Ingredients:
Green moong dal – 1/4 cup

Onion-1

Masoor dal – 1/4 cup

Tomato – 4

Urad dal – 1/4 cup

Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp

Chana dal – 1/4 cup

Turmeric powder – 1 tsp

Tovar dal – 1/4 cup

Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp

Green cardamom – 3

Salt to taste

Cinnamon stick – 1

Fennel powder – 1/2 tsp

Cumin seeds – 1 tsp

Oil – 3 tbsps

Method:

1. Clean, wash and soak the dals in warm water for at least an hour. Drain and keep aside.

2. Add 4 cups water and cook in a pressure cooker for 15 to 20 minutes, over medium flame, till the dals are cooked.

3. Heat the oil in a pan, add the cardamoms, cinnamon and cumin seeds and let them splutter.

4. Now add the onions and cook till they get golden brown.

5. Add the tomatoes, salt, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and fennel powder, mix them and let them simmer for 4 to 5 minutes.

6. Add the cooked dals and make them to come to a boil.

7. Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve it with rice or chapattis.
